"These pumps have been a lifesaver
for our Black NICU Moms and their babies."
- Beverly Young, NICU Nurse, Montefiore Einstein Hospital, New York
We are so happy to have joined your Alliance. It is such a positive to be able to offer our families the pump. We consistently remind families about the importance of their evaluations. A note to your volunteers…
Dear Alliance Volunteers: Thank you so much for you all you do for our families.
They are so appreciative for the pumps and the extras you send along as well.
It is so gratifying when we tell families they will be able to get a wearable pump—the look on their faces is worth it all.
Thank you for dedication to assure all babies can enjoy the health benefits from their mother’s milk.

Welcome to the Pump Parent FAQ, provided by the Alliance for Black NICU Families. Below, you'll find answers to common questions about our program and what to do when issues arise. THANK YOU FOR REFERRING TO THS FAQ BEFORE CONTACTING US. It will provide us with the information needed to provide you with the best response possible as quickly as possible.
Please contact us through the website here and we'll provide you with the Pump Partner application form. Once you fill out the form, we review and with approval, send an email with information on getting started, including a private Pump Partner page that includes access to the request form, our flyer that you can use to advertise it in the unit/office/website and more. Once approved, you should note that we try to process our shipments each weekday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time to go out next day. However our turnaround is expected to be 5 business days but that is in extreme situations such as holidays, team members being out, and a large request in pumps.
Please do reach out to other NICUs about our program. Simply have them reach out to us at contact@BlackNICUFamilies.org Or send them this FAQ page . We appreciate you!
Sounds like you would. Please contact us. NOTE that there is NO INCOME REQUIREMENT as this is an EQUITY program. All we ask is that our recipients take a very short survey so we can use that information to get funding and help more Black NICU Birthing People. Thank you in advance for doing this small request.
Once your pump partner/parent application is approved, items are usually shipped within 48 hours but depending on holidays and weekends that time can increase to up to 5 business days. Delivery times may vary based on your location, but we work hard to get your breast pump to you as quickly as possible. Note: As these pumps have lithium batteries we are required to ship everything by USPS Ground Advantage and therefore cannot send it any faster than that.
When the pump is requested by a pump partner on behalf of a parent, we send two tracking notifications:
Please email us after checking your tracking information provided in the email that was sent to you when we shipped the pump. If it says delivered but you have not received it, please let us know and we will contact our shipping company. an answer to this item.
